Who I Am

A Local Expert Committed to Excellence

Hello, I am Brett Jeffery, serving as the Director and principal consultant at Whispering Tree Arboricultural Consulting. My journey with trees spans over 34 years, backed by a wealth of practical experience including an AQF Level 5 in Arboriculture and Horticulture.

To keep pace with the dynamic field of arboriculture, I actively participate in frequent seminars and events, ensuring that I not only meet but exceed current industry standards.

My arboricultural odyssey began in 1990 as a Horticultural Apprentice with the ACT Government, specialising in Tree Surgery. There, I honed my skills within operational activities and delved into tree biology, soil science, and plant health care. Following my tenure with the ACT Government, I contributed my expertise to the Brisbane City Council and Hervey Bay Council before finding my way to Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.

In late 2023, I transitioned from Local Government employment to embark on a new chapter, establishing a private consultancy practice based at our home on the picturesque Mid-North Coast of NSW.

In August 2024, I officially earned my Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)! This certification deepens my expertise in evaluating tree risk, enriching my ability to provide well-informed recommendations for effective tree management and further advancing my professional journey.
